Golf Grip for Power and Consistency

You’ve heard it a thousand times… the golf grip is one of the most important techniques to get right. After all, the grip is the only point of connection between your body and the club.

And while a good grip alone won’t produce a pure ball flight… a bad one all but guarantees you’re going to struggle. The grip is so critical that you’ll want to monitor it throughout your golfing career.

Now usually when you learn about the golf grip, the emphasis is on squaring the club face… You know, strengthen your grip if you’re hitting a slice, weaken it if you’re hitting a hook…

That’s important, but there’s so much more to the grip than just slices and hooks. And so today I want to talk about the golf grip from a different perspective.

Check out the video below to see what I’m talking about. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed that!

Far too often a student comes to my lesson tee with a poor grip that is causing a whole host of problems.

A faulty golf grip often leads to a “handsy” flipping motion through impact – leading to all sorts of mishits and inconsistent contact.

And just like my student in the video, it can also put you in a weak position that drains your power.

So go ahead and grab an 8-iron right now and try out the “45 degree” angle idea I talked about in the video. You might discover a whole lot of power you didn’t realize you had!

Ok that’s it for today, but if you’re serious about improving your game then take a look at my Ballstriking Blueprint training course. It covers my entire teaching method from top to bottom, and is loaded with drills you can do right at home to start hitting the ball better and shooting lower scores!
